USC basketball coach Darrin Horn took a couple of minutes before practice Thursday to share the latest on his team. The Gamecocks are coming off at win at Clemson Sunday and are off this week for exams. They return to the court December 13th at home against Presbyterian.
Horn said he does not know how Bruce Ellington will divide his time between basketball and bowl prep with the football team when it begins practice for the Capitol One Bowl later this month.
We will do what we’ve always done, we will do what is in Bruce’s best interest,” Horn said. I think football is just starting to finalize their schedule. We will do what we’ve always done, we will do what’s in Bruce’s best interest and work well does make sure he’s as productive as possible in both sports.”
Ellington should have his practice plans finalized early next week. The team will also update the injury status of Brenton Williams early next week. He’s been out with a knee injury since the Tennessee State loss last month.
