USC accepted a bid to the Capital One Bowl Sunday, setting up its first ever trip to the Orlando bowl game. The Gamecocks (10-2) will face Nebraska (9-3) in the January 2nd bowl game.
The Capital One Bowl was formerly known as the Citrus Bowl. No one can forget Steve Spurrier’s famous “You can spell Citrus without UT” line about Tennessee way back when, but the HBC is very excited about the opportunity to make this bowl trip.
This is the first time these two teams have played since the 1987 season. Nebraska is 3-0 all-time against USC.
