USC defensive end Jadeveon Clowney was medically cleared to return to practice Thursday and did work out with the team according to sources. However, USC Sports Information Director Steve Fink said Friday afternoon Clowney has not been given official medical clearance by the USC trainer to whom Fink spoke Friday afternoon.
“It is correct he practiced, but they want to make sure he doesn’t have any problems,” Fink said. “Obviously, that (the clearance) can change.”
Clowney suffered what was termed as a “mild concussion” in last week’s win over The Citadel and was withheld from practice until Thursday.
The freshman from South Pointe has played in all 11 games this season recording 31 tackles including 9 tackles for loss and 5 sacks.
