The USC basketball team received some good news in regards to guard Brenton Williams Tuesday. The knee injury he suffered in Sunday’s loss to Tennessee State is not as serious as some first thought.
Here is the official USC release:
After further evaluation by the South Carolina medical staff, men’s basketball sophomore guard Brenton Williams will be out 2-4 weeks with a left knee sprain. The injury occurred early in the first half of Sunday’s game versus Tennessee State.
Williams was averaging 8.0 points and 1.5 rebounds in 15 minutes per game entering the Tennessee State contest.
South Carolina hosts Mississippi Valley State tonight, before traveling to Las Vegas, continuing action in the Continental Tire Las Vegas Invitational on Friday versus No. 1 North Carolina. Game time versus UNC is set for 10 p.m. ET, with the game televised on ESPN2.
