Clemson basketball coach Brad Brownell Tuesday met with the media to set the stage for the upcoming season which for the Tigers opens Friday night at home against Gardner-Webb.
Brownell set records last season for most total wins (22) and ACC wins (9) by a Clemson coach in his first season. And he guided the Tigers to a school record fourth straight NCAA Tournament appearance.
The Tigers return six lettermen and will be led by their senior backcourt of Andre Young and Tanner Smith. Upfront, juniors Milton Jennings and Devin Booker and senior Bryan Narcisse will be counted on to provide the muscle. And several freshmen will be asked to step up and provide quality minutes in a backup role, or perhaps even in a starting role.
The Tigers defeated Queens College 68-35 in their exhibition game last Saturday night. Smith led the Tigers with 13 points.
