Class of 2013 DE Demarcus Walker (6-4 255) of Jacksonville, FL has offers from Clemson, USC, Southern Miss and Mississippi State according to coach Adam Geis. Walker spent two-an-a-half days at a Clemson camp last summer and fell in love with the Tigers. “He really loved everything about it,” Geis said. “He loved the coaches, the campus…everything.” Walker was at a one-day camp at USC and is also showing interest in the Gamecocks. “He didn’t spend as much time there so he hasn’t seen as much,” said Geis. “I promised to take him up there this summer for a few days so he can get a better look.” Coach Geis said that Walker really likes Dabo Swinney and Jeff Scott. “They’re just great people and the fact that they’re winning doesn’t hurt,” he said. “Coach Spurrier’s name speaks for itself.” Walker is receiving interest from schools across the country and coach Geis expects offers from Florida and Florida State in the near future. No favorites for the defensive end.
6-10 center Landry Nnoko committed to Clemson late Thursday night picking the Tigers over George Washington and Florida State. He also had offers from Florida and South Florida. Nnoko is a native of Cameroon who attends Montverde Academy in Florida. He took official visits to GW and Clemson in October. Nnoko said he liked the basketball atmosphere at Clemson. “It’s a good school and they play in a nice conference,” he said. “Basketball is a big thing there.” Nnoko did not play last season as he sat behind an older player. He’s anxious to get his chance this season. “I run the court well and play good defense,” Nnoko said. “I can score around the basket.” He’s the fourth commitment for Clemson’s 2012 class.
