2010-2011 Record: 11-21 (3-13)
Things were rough on the Bayou last season, as the Tigers were outscored by over twelve points per game in SEC play. Guards Andre Stringer and Ralston Turner were bright spots on last year’s team, as each averaged double digit points in their freshmen campaigns. Head coach Trent Johnson gave fans hope for the future when he landed McDonald’s All-American Johnny O’Bryant. The frontcourt will also get a boost from Iowa State-transfer Justin Hamilton. The Tigers also inked Anthony Hickey, who was named Mr. Basketball in the state of Kentucky last season. LSU has not made a postseason appearance in two years, and the Tigers will be fighting an uphill battle to reach it this season. Basketball in Baton Rouge has not been thriving, but a batch of newcomers could give the Tigers optimism for the years ahead.
