USC restarts its season Saturday night at Tennessee. The Gamecocks hit their off week with a 6-1 overall record and and a 4-1 SEC mark. They are 13th in the BCS standings and lead the SEC East.
Win out in the rest of their league games and the Gamecocks are headed back to the SEC Championship Game for the second season in a row. So, the players realize their goals are still reachable and are in their own hands.
They also know they are minus three offensive starters in Marcus Lattimore, Stephen Garcia, and Kyle Nunn. Their absences have force the Gamecocks to start a true freshman, Brandon Wilds, at tailback, a sophomore with three career starts, Connor Shaw, at quarterback, and a redshirt freshman with two career starts, Cody Gibson, at right tackle.
But the Gamecocks are ready to move forward with who they have in uniform and remain confident they can complete their mission.
The Gamecocks and Vols will kickoff at 7:15 at Neyland Stadium where a crowd of under 90-thousand is expected in the 102-thousand seat stadium. USC is a four point favorite. The Game will be televised by ESPN2.
