Clemson got a major scare Saturday afternoon at Death Valley. It didn’t come from Boston College. The Tigers easily dispated the Eagles 36-14 after jumping out to a 17-0 lead. The scare came in the third quarter when quarterback Tajh Boyd was hit while rolling out on a pass play. Boyd injured his hip, had to be helpd off the field, and did not return.
While the Tigers can point to several players as reasons for their 6-0 start, none is more important than Boyd, who is having an All ACC, if not All American season. He was headed for another 300+ yard passing day before the injury.
With the win, the Tigers maintain their lead in the ACC Atlantic Division. They will be on the road next weekend for a 7:00 PM game against Maryland.
