According to a source, banned USC booster Kevin Lahn of Philadelphia is in Columbia and plans to attend tonight’s game with Navy. Lahn, a 1983 USC grad, was ordered by USC earlier this week to disassociate himself from the program due to his relationship with Gamecock freshman receiver Demaire Byrd who is serving a four game suspension.
USC stripped Lahn of his game tickets but the source said Lahn bought his own tickets thru Stub Hub. He also was ordered to have no further contact with Byrd’s father. The source said Lahn has been a friend of the Byrd family for years and feels he’s been made a scapecoat in this situation.
Lahn also has known Florida defensive lineman Sharrif Floyd for many years and has assisted him in his life. The NCAA suspended Floyd for the first two games of the season.
