DE Jhaustin Thomas (6-6 240) of Decatur, GA has USC in his top five and plans to take an official visit to Columbia during the season. “I still talk to them a lot,” Thomas said. “They tell me they really want me.” The Gamecocks have mentioned the opportunity to play opposite Jadeveon Clowney along the line. His top five are USC, Florida, Tennessee, Alabama and Auburn in no order. His plans are to take some official visits and commit before the season ends. “I was going to commit earlier but I need more time,” he said. He has not scheduled any of the visits but will likely visit all or most of his favorites. This summer, he visited Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee and Florida State. He does not have a favorite.
QB Devin Fuller (6-0 185) of Old Tappan, NJ has his top ten schools but is not ready to release the list. He did admit that he still has an interest in USC and could take an official visit there. “I talked to coach (G.A.) Mangus about a week ago,” Fuller said. “I heard he got suspended or something and I haven’t heard from him since then. It did concern me a little (the suspension) but as long as it doesn’t hurt the team, it’s not that big of a deal.” The Gamecocks recently picked up a commitment from one of Fuller’s friends, LB Kaiwan Lewis. “It didn’t really surprise me because he’s liked them ever since they offered him,” he said. Fuller will visit UCLA on August 11th. He does not have a leader.

6-9 Brice Johnson of Edisto wrapped up his AAU season last week in Orlando and he has landed two more big time offers. Johnson said Louisville and North Carolina have joined his offer list which already consisted of USC, Clemson, Ohio State, Marquette, Tennessee, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, Florida State, South Florida, Connecticut, St. Johns and Florida. “I’m still open,” Johnson said. “I’m going to be taking some visits but I’m not sure where.” USC and Clemson will get two of those visits along with some out of state schools. Johnson said he hasn’t had the chance to devise a favorites’ list. “I haven’t really looked at it just yet,” he said. “I’ve just been trying to finish up my tournaments.” Johnson said he’ll decide on those visits in the next couple of weeks. He does not have a leader and he said there’s no favorite between USC and Clemson. And he said all the schools are recruiting him about the same.
