RB Todd Gurley of Tarboro, NC made a quick visit to Clemson Wednesday after visiting Georgia earlier in the week. North Carolina is still his favorite with Georgia second on his list.
QB Greyson Lambert of Jesup, GA has spent the last several days visiting schools across the Southeast. Two schools omitted from the trip were USC and Clemson. “I’ve been to Clemson several times but they’ve gotten their quarterback,” Lambert said speaking of QB Chad Kelly. “When I was putting my trip together, I was thinking of going to South Carolina but they got a commitment (QB Brendon Nosovitch) recently as well. Both schools told me they were only recruiting one quarterback.” Each school had offered Lambert. His trip has taken him to Arkansas, LSU, Alabama and Tennessee. He heads to Virginia on July 30th and Florida State after that. Of these schools, Alabama and Virginia have offered. Lambert does not have any favorites and wants to wait until after he has completed his summer tour before narrowing his list.
DB Clinton Heaven of Bradenton, FL flew to North Carolina Wednesday to begin a five-day, three-school tour. “I just got off the plane here in North Carolina,” Heaven said. “It’s my first trip to all of these schools.” He will visit NC State and North Carolina before heading to Nashville to see Vanderbilt. Earlier this summer, Heaven stopped by USC on his way to an FCA camp and has the Gamecocks as one of his top programs. However, he is not sure where he stands with USC. “To be honest, I haven’t heard from them in a while so I’m not sure what’s going on with them,” he said. He named USC, Vanderbilt, UNC and NC State as his top four. “I don’t really know when I will commit,” Heaven said. “When it feels right, I’ll do it then.”
LB Quanzell Lambert (6-2 240) of Erial, NJ has been using his summer to prepare for the upcoming season. He has taken two trips with neither dealing with his recruitment. “I went to Oregon for the Nike camp last week and I went to Penn State with my team for a team building camp,” Lambert said. The Jersey linebacker is in no hurry to eliminate schools from his list saying, “I’m working on it right now. I’ll probably start narrowing it by mid-season.” Lambert’s offers include USC, Penn State, Alabama, Florida, Auburn, Pitt, Purdue, Rutgers, Boston College, Maryland and Virginia. He has 19 in all. As for possible visits, he is keeping the Gamecocks in mind. “It’s a good program,” he said. “They are building a tradition. Plus, I like the coaches.” Lambert added that he will likely take all five of his official visits before he decides. He does not have a favorite.
