Two of Clemson’s top junior pitchers, lefthander Will Lamb and righthander Scott Weismann, have signed their pro contracts. Lamb inked his deal with the Texas Rangers. He was the team’s second round draft pick earlier this month. He was assigned to their team in Spokane, WA. Lamb spent most of this season in centerfield batting .348 with three home runs and 39 RBIs. On the mound he was 1-1 with a 5.11 ERA and 29 strikeouts.
Weismann’s signing was reported by TheClemsonInsider.com. He was the 46th round pick of the Cubs after going 3-5 with a 4.89 ERA. He also had 7 saves. Weismann began the season in the starting rotation but later moved to the closer’s role.
Lamb and Weismann join third baseman John Hinson as veteran drafted Tigers who have signed.
