USC junior outfielder Jake Williams is back on the Gamecock baseball team. He will be making the trip to Starkville for this weekend’s series with Mississippi State.
Williams was suspended last week for a violation of team rules. It was later reported that he purchased alcohol for underage drinkers. The incident occurred during a party at his house and Williams was not taken into custody. He was scheduled to appear in court tomorrow. There is a better than slim chance that date has been moved or Williams has settled the case out of court because the team is leaving for Starkville at 11:00 tomorrow morning.
Williams has played in 29 games this season and started 25. He is hitting .286 with 2 homeruns and 18 RBI.
