Clemson coach Jack Leggett said on SportsTalk Monday night that starting pitcher Kevin Brady may not return this season. The sophomore right-hander was injured March 6th during a start against USC.
“Right now I’m not counting on it,” Leggett said when asked if he expected Brady back. “If he comes back that’s gravy but he’s got a long way to go.”
Leggett said Brady still has discomfort in his pitching forearm and elbow area. Right now Brady is still trying to build his strength back up. Even then Leggett says it will take time to get him back on the mound.
“Even if he gets to 100 percent where he feels really good and he’s repaired it’s still going to take some time to get him back to where he was at the beginning of the season.”
Brady was 2-0 with a 1.10 ERA prior to the injury.
