Clemson won it’s first NCAA Tournament game since 1997, and Tiger coach Brad Brownell won the first NCAA Tournament game of his career, as the Tigers steamrolled UAB 70-52 Tuesday night in round one of the NCAA Tournament in Dayton, OH.
The Tigers jumped on the Blazers early with a 25-7 start. They weathered a couple of UAB runs that got the lead into single digits but for the most part, the Tigers had the game in hand all the way.
Clemson shot 52% for the game and outscored UAB 40-12 in the paint. Jerai Grant led Clemson with a career high 22 points. Milton Jennings added 11.
Clemson will play West Virginia Thursday afternoon at 12:15 in Tampa on CBS in round two.
