Former South Pointe High School coach Bobby Carroll does not know where his star defensive end Jadeveon Clowney will play his college football, but Carroll said Friday he does know one thing…Clowney will be academically eligible to play as a freshman. Carroll said Friday he had seen and been told about reports questioning Clowney’s eligibility status. Carroll said there is absolutely no doubt in his mind Clowney will be on the field this fall. “There was never any question in my mind he will qualify,” Carroll said. “I’ll bet a million dollars he qualifies because he works so hard in the classroom.” Clowney will announce his college decision Monday morning around 10:15 at his school. USC and Clemson were the top two with Clowney who said earlier this week he has made his decision. Clowney has a basketball game at home Friday night. He might go to one of the games tomorrow at Clemson or USC but has not decided on that.
