The website Footballscoop.com, which largely focuses on the comings and goings of football coaches, reported Sunday that Clemson coach Dabo Swinney had talked with Tulsa associate head coach and offensive coordinator Chad Morris about replacing Billy Napier. Morris also coaches quarterbacks at Tulsa.
Morris just completed his first season with the Golden Hurricanes after a very successful high school career in Texas. Tulsa was 5th in the country in total offense this season at 515 yards per game and 8th in scoring at 41 points per game.
Tulsa quarterback GJ Kinne was fifth in the nation in total offense with 3650 passing yards and 561 rushing yards. He passed for 31 touchdowns and rushed for seven.
Morris turned 42 last month and is a graduate of Texas A&M.
