Clemson defensive end Da’Quan Bowers claims he still has not made a decision about his NFL future. The junior out of Bamberg is projected to be a top five pick in the NFL draft. Most people assume it’s a foregone conclusion that Bowers will not return for his final season. Bowers has yet to announce his future plans, but he did acknowledge Monday that his time at Clemson could be ending soon.
“It’s a chance that this could be my last game, Bowers said. But it’s a chance that it could be the start of a very powerful season next year. Whatever I decide to do I am going to always have fun and love Clemson and I am going to go out and play my best Friday.”
Dabo Swinney has been pretty good at talking guys out millions of dollars (C.J. Spiller and Kyle Parker) to play football at Clemson but it is hard to see how he can make a legitimate case for Bowers to return. Bowers draft stock can only go one direction next year: down. Swinney is a good salesman, but not that good.
