About a week ago Brian St. Pierre was spending his time as a stay-at-home dad changing his 18 month old baby boy’s dirty diapers. This week he’s the starting quarterback for the Carolina Panthers.
And you thought the American Dream was dead.
In a somewhat stunning move Panthers coach John Fox decided not to give rookie Tony Pike his first career start, opting instead for the 30 year-old St. Pierre. St. Pierre was picked in the fifth round of the 2003 draft and since then has thrown five passes for 12 yards with three different teams. Apparently Fox thinks he’s the quarterback of the future.
Just a hunch here, but I’m guessing neither Fox nor St. Pierre will be part of the team much longer.
