Clemson receiver DeAndre Hopkins suffered a muscular injury in his upper body at practice on Wednesday while making a leaping catch. His status for Saturday’s game with Maryland will be updated after practice on Thursday.
Dabo Swinney said after Wedensday’s practice Hopkins was having a hard time breathing after the injury. Swinney said he “hoped” it was nothing serious.
Hopkins was named ACC Rookie of the Week last Saturday when he had seven receptions against North Carolina, the most catches by a Clemson freshman in five years.
Clemson (2-3, 0-2) will play host to Maryland (4-1, 1-0) at Noon Saturday at Death Valley.
