Clemson freshman receiver DeAndre Hopkins has been tabbed the ACC Rookie of the week. Hopkins had seven catches for 46 yards in Saturday’s loss at North Carolina. That is the most receptions by a Tiger freshman since Aaron Kelly had seven against Temple in 2005. Hopkins also returned a punt 31 yards to set up a second half touchdown.
The ACC also honored former Myrtle Beach High standout Bruce Taylor as its co-defensive lineman of the week. Taylor plays for Virginia Tech and had a game-high 13 tackles in the Hokies 45-21 win over Central Michigan Saturday. He is currently sixth in the ACC in tackles with 49.
