Ok, it isn’t the NCAA tournament. It isn’t even the NIT. It’s the CBI, but who cares? Apparently not the College of Charleston. The Cougars won their first round CBI game at Eastern Kentucky 82-79 Wednesday night. The Cougars, who just a few weeks ago looked like a pretty good bet to get into the NCAA tourney, managed to shake off that natural letdown and take care of business on the road.

Andrew Goudelock led the Cougars with 17 points. Charleston improves to 22-11 and will move on the quarterfinals to face VCU Monday night. The Rams are coached by former Clemson assistant Shaka Smart. Monday’s game will tip off at 7:00 and be televised on HDNet.
