Former UNC-Wilmington shooting guard 6-5 CJ Bryce will take an official visit to USC starting Tuesday and departing Wednesday. He will be joined on the visit by his father. Bryce is from Charlotte and played the last two seasons with the Seahawks.
“They said they really liked my game and could help me get to the next level which is my ultimate goal,” Bryce said of the Gamecocks. “Frank Martin is a great coach and what he has done with that program is really impressive, seeing the run they had last year. They reached out to me once I got my release and I was interested right away once I heard from Frank.”
Bryce also has visited NC State where his former coach at UNCW is now the coach. He said he’s also hearing from Miami, Maryland, Wake Forest, Gonzaga, Georgetown and Pitt. He does not have any more visits scheduled at this point.
Bryce averaged 17.4 points per game last season and led UNCW to the NCAA Tournament. He was the MVP of the CAA Tournament and first team all conference. He will have to sit out this coming season.
