Dabo Swinney pulled out an age old quip of his on what he told his players going into the NFL Draft. Dabo also told his players not to sweat on where they get taken and that God has a plan and follow that plan. These sentiments from Dabo came moments after he arrived in Philadelphia to support his players in the draft.
Outside of the draft, Dabo Swinney told reporters that it’s going to be hard to fill the hole at wide receiver after the departure of Mike Williams and Artavis Scott. The Tigers will rely on the experience Ray-Ray McCloud and Deon Cain, and Trevion Thompson at wide-out but Swinney also thinks that younger players on the roster like Cornell Powell and T.J. Chase will have to develop in order for the corp to reclaim the accolades it got last season.
As for the most watched position on the roster, quarterback Zerrick Cooper showed Dabo flashes of what he likes in a quarterback. Dabo also mentioned that Kelly Bryant is recovering well from his finger injury and is still the unquestioned starter if the season were to begin today.
“We’ve got everything we need to win at that position to win at a high level,” said Dabo. “We’re just, you know, still working through the process.”
