USC’s two juco defensive back targets, Keisean Nixon of Arizona Western and Kaleb Chalmers of Northwest Mississippi are in bowl games this weekend so both have been occupied by practices all week. They’ve also been occupied with recruiters including USC head coach Will Muschamp and defensive coordinator Travaris Robinson.
The two were out to visit Nixon on Monday and then later in the week made the trip to Mississippi to check on Chalmers. Both players have made an official visit to USC and both will take a final official next weekend before the mid-year signing period begins December 14th.
Northwestern Mississippi coach Benji Parker confirmed the presence of the Gamecock coaches, along with coaches from several other teams, at a practice this week. He said he has not had a chance this to talk more with Chalmers about his recruiting and won’t sit down with him until Sunday afternoon.
Chalmers is scheduled to visit Ole Miss December 10th. Nixon has not decided on his final official visit. He has been to USC, Iowa State, Colorado State and Oregon State. He recently added offers from Georgia, Tennessee and UCLA.
