Clemson feels like it owes Florida State one for the 2014 loss in Tallahassee. The Tigers lost that game in overtime 23-17. The Tigers failed to score from the Seminoles one in the third quarter and a chance to win in regulation went by the boards thanks to a CJ Davidson fumble at the FSU 14 with 1:36 to play.
The Tigers outgained the Seminoles that day by nearly 100 yards and held them to just 13 rushing yards. So, Clemson returns to Tallahassee Saturday night with a big chip on the shoulder and a chance to bury the Seminoles’ season which already has two warts on it.
The Seminoles are still potent on offense with freshman sensation quarterback Deondre Francois at the controls. Dalvin Cook is still one of the nation’s top running backs so there are plenty of weapons for the Clemson defense to worry about.
Here’s what Brent Venables, Christian Wilkins and Kendall Joseph said this week about playing at Florida State and winning there for the first time since 2006.
