One of the top running back prospects in North Carolina for 2018 is Justus Woods (6-0 19o) of Charlotte. He holds offers from Virginia, Wisconsin, East Carolina, Northwestern and others. Clemson also is interested but has not offered. After visiting for the NC State game last Saturday, Woods would love more love from the Tigers.
“The visit to Clemson was amazing,” Woods said. “Clemson played a tough game and the atmosphere was amazing. That had to be one of the loudest college football games that I have ever been to. I loved it. They are mostly just telling me to keep on working hard and that they were glad I was able to come down there to see the school.”
Woods said if the Tigers were to step up with an offer, and he were to accept, he would have little trouble picking up their offense.
“My team actually runs their offense,” he said. “One of their former coaches, Mike Miller, is now our offensive coordinator. I love the spread, fast pace offense. I’m a patient runner and the offense allows me to read the defense and find the holes easier, especially with the read option.”
Wood said he’s also heard some from USC, “but not that much.” He also has visited Northwestern this season and wants to visit Duke, Wake Forest, Wisconsin and others. He’s also hearing from Stanford.
