By the end of Sunday 7-1 Jason Cudd of Socastee very well could be a commitment to USC basketball coach Frank Martin for the 2017 class. Cudd visited USC over the weekend and said Sunday afternoon he is close on pledging but wants to talk with his parents first.
Cudd said the visit gave him a chance to get to know more about Martin and his program and how he would fit in.
“They showed me how they use their big men and the style of play that they play,” Cudd said. “I think it would be a great fit. They throw the ball inside a lot. They run the offense thru the big man.”
Cudd has seen Martin coach in person so he knows the type of intense person he is on the bench, and he’s fine with that.
“Every coach yells to an extent,” he said. “Really, he’s just trying to get his players play harder. From what I’ve seen I know that he sticks up for them and he cares about them. They want me to come there. I know they want me to commit. I might actually call them back later and go ahead and do it then.”
Cudd is also being recruited by East Carolina and Tulane but said a USC commitment will end the process for him.
