Junior WR Bryan Edwards (6-3 208) of Conway plans to attend the Georgia at USC game in two weeks. It will be his first visit this season. USC, Clemson, North Carolina, Florida, Duke and Virginia Tech have offered Edwards and he’s been drawing interest from Texas, Tennessee, Georgia and Michigan State among others.
Though he does not have favorites, Edwards feels pretty strongly about the in state schools. “Clemson and USC are definitely up there,” Edwards said. Clemson is telling me they like my size and that there is a place for me in their offense. It’s a nice place to be and they they throw the ball around a lot. I like that.”
The Gamecocks also like Edwards’ size. “USC is telling me they like that I’m a bigger receiver,” Edwards said. “They said that I could be a big threat in their offense and mentioned that they haven’t had a real big receiver in a while. They also said I could move to tight end if I keep growing. I like their stadium atmosphere and they play in the SEC, so that would give me a chance to go up against the best.”
Edwards added that he likes the wide receiver position but does not have any reservations about moving to tight end. “Whatever gets me the most playing time is where I want to be,” he said.
He plans to visit Florida, Duke and North Carolina this season and is not planning to announce a decision any time soon. He estimated the end of his senior campaign as when he would make a commitment. He did not name a leader.
