Very little went right for USC in Thursday night’s 52-28 beatdown by Texas A&M. The Gamecock defense was manhandled by a bigger, stronger, faster A&M offense. The offense, though putting up 433 yards, never attempted to establish the running game and thus got into a shoot out with the wrong team. And the special teams allowed a long kickoff return to start the game and allow the Aggies to get on an early roll.
There was plenty of blame to go around for the Gamecocks who should realize that a similar performance next week against East Carolina and they will be 0-2 for the first time since going 0-11 in 1999.
Here are more post game thoughts from the Gamecocks and from Aggie quarterback Kenny Hill passed for a school record 511 yards.
