Spurrier says Davis may not start in game one

USC’s star running back Mike Davis missed practice again on Wednesday while resting a bruised hip suffered in Saturday’s scrimmage.  In fact, Davis hasn’t practiced all week and Gamecock coach Steve Spurrier said after practice Wednesday afternoon Davis might not be in with the first unit when they trot onto the field for the first time a week from Thursday.

Spurrier, for the second straight night, was not impressed by his team’s practice due to several dropped passes.  And he said as of Wednesday night he’s undecided about the backup quarterback’s job between Connor Mitch and Perry Orth.
