Eric Smith will transition from a Gamecock to a Chanticleer

Point guard Eric Smith is the first of the departing four USC basketball players to firm up a new school.  Smith’s father confirmed Monday night his son will transfer to Coastal Carolina for his senior season.  Steve Smith said his son is on track to graduate this summer and will be eligible immediately for the Chanticleers.

Guards Brian Richardson and Damian Leonard along with forward RJ Slawson are also transferring out of the Gamecock program.

Former Clemson forward Bernard Sullivan, a Charlotte native, says he will continue his career in his hometown with the Charlotte 49ers.  Sullivan spent two seasons at Clemson and will have to sit out next season.
