Today the 15 member ACC schools collectively signed a media rights agreement, effective immediately, that essentially ensures little conference defection for the next 14 years. The 15 member schools include the current Atlantic Coast Conference institutions (Maryland notwithstanding), and the additions of Pittsburgh, Notre Dame, Louisville, and Syracuse. Tonight we had Clemson Director of Athletics, Dan Radakovich, on SportsTalk to discuss what this means for the athletic future of the Clemson Tigers.
Radakovich was kind enough to join us from Pasadena, where he was representing the Atlantic Coast Conference for some meetings taking place out west regarding the future of college athletics moving forward.
He helped us better understand the media rights deal, proclaiming “I guess we’ll all have to talk about something else” regarding any exit from the league by a current institution in the near future. He also talked television deals, Notre Dame, the future of the NCAA and football, and his strong affinity for women’s track.
