USC will have at least two quarterback prospects on campus at its junior day later this month. Drew Barker of Hebron, KY is the only quarterback the Gamecocks have offered in the 2014 class. GA Mangus and Steve Spurrier also have interest in Tyler Harris (6-4 215) of Blackshear, GA. Harris has offers from Alabama, Mississippi State and Troy. He has visited Florida State and Alabama. Most of his contact with USC has been with recruiter Everette Sands. “He said they needed to get me on campus and see me throw,” Harris said. “I’m very interested in South Carolina. They were one of the first programs to show interest.” Harris was at USC for the Georgia game last season. He actually grew up a Bulldog fan and had an uncle play there. But he has no favorites right now. “I want to take the summer and explore my options,” he said. Harris wants to decide before his season. Last season he passed for 2500 yards and 29 touchdowns. “I have good arm strength and can make all the throws,” Harris said.

DB Chris Murphy of Marietta, GA has offers from North Carolina, Purdue, Vanderbilt, Oklahoma State, Virginia, Connecticut, Utah, Missouri and   West Virginia among others with interest from USC, Arkansas, Michigan, Penn State and Boise State. Murphy is showing interest in the Gamecocks though he has not heard from them recently. “I’ve been hearing from a lot of schools and I think I’m going to pick up several more offers in the next week,” he said. “But I haven’t talked to South Carolina in a few weeks.” He spoke with G.A. Mangus at that time. “He really just told me about the program and stuff like that,” said Murphy. “I’m still interested in them.” This off-season, he has visited Oklahoma State, Tennessee, Louisville, Kentucky, NC State, Wake Forest and North Carolina. “I am booking a trip to Missouri right now,” he added. Murphy plans to narrow his list to five this spring and plans to commit when his team’s spring practice concludes. He did not name a leader.

OL Jake Whitley of North Augusta is garnering interest from NC State, North Carolina, Mississippi State, Alabama, Tennessee, Missouri and Florida State among others, He named NC State as the school showing the most interest. “They really like me and are getting to know me,” said Whitley. “They’ve got a new coaching staff so it’s taking a little time but they told me they liked me on film. I’m going up there next weekend for a spring practice and to hang out with the coaches.” He has expressed interest in the Wolfpack. Whitley is also interested in UNC and has visited more than once. “I went to their junior day a couple of weeks ago and it impressed me,” he said. “I liked it a lot. I like the way they do things and the way they run their offense.” Mississippi State was another junior day stop for Whitley. “They play in the SEC so I really like that,” said the lineman. “I like their coaches and their offense too.” His other upcoming visits include Wake Forest and Georgia. Whitley does not have any favorites.

DB Trumaine Washington (5-9 170) of Miami has an offer with Purdue with interest from Clemson, USC, Florida, Florida International, Florida Atlantic, Connecticut and Memphis among others. Washington attended a junior day at Clemson. “I felt like I was home there,” he said. “I liked it a lot. They told me they want me to camp there this summer. They told me they liked the way I play and I think they just want to see me (at camp).” Washington has not spoken with USC but says they have reached out to him. “They added me on Facebook but I’m supposed to call Grady Brown to talk to him,” said Washington. “I have seen South Carolina play on TV and I like the way they play. They’re big, fast and strong and everybody goes to the ball. I really like that.” Clemson was Washington’s first trip with plans to attend junior days at Florida Atlantic and Louisville. He does not have any favorites.

USC LB target Bryson Allen-Williams of Ellenwood, GA spoke on the phone Wednesday with Auburn coach Gus Malzahn.  He plans to visit Alabama this weekend.  He also visited Alabama for a junior day in January. He picked up an offer from Louisville earlier in the week.

LB Shaun Hamilton of Montgomery, AL today revealed his favorite seven schools as Clemson, Auburn, Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, UCLA and Southern Cal.  He will visit Tennessee this weekend and Alabama next weekend.   He plans to announce April 17th
