While basketball success has been limited in the Palmetto State this season, the Pioneers of Spartanburg Methodist College have been riding high all year long.
SMC is currently the top-ranked team in the NJCAA polls, as the Pioneers have an unblemished 27-0 record. SMC received all 14 first-place votes in the latest poll and is currently the only undefeated team in the NJCAA. It is the first time in school history that the men’s basketball team has claimed the top stop in the rankings.
The Pioneers have already punched their ticket to the national championship tournament by virtue of their regular-season regional title.
