A look at where the major recruiting services ranked USC and Clemson

With the dust of the 2013 National Signing Day settling, we can take a breath and take a peek at how the various recruiting services have ranked the Clemson and South Carolina classes. We are using the rankings of ESPN, 247Sports, Rivals and Scout.

Here is the breakdown:

ESPN.com: Clemson # 13, South Carolina #17

Rivals.com: Clemson #14, South Carolina #16

Scout.com: Clemson #12, South Carolina #21

247Sports.com: Clemson #15, South Carolina #20

Clemson average ranking: 13.5

South Carolina average ranking: 18.5

I can’t help but be a little concerned about USC’s recruiting effort, being ranked around #17 after the seasons they’ve had recently, finishing # 7 and beating several rivals a few times in a row along with the big bowl win, “big hit” and all. I would have thought it would have been a little better. I wish you guys would comment on this a little. I mean do you think they are being out worked or is it a case of filling needs or the lack of in state talent this year or what. It seems they don’t even bother going after the big names. I look at Ole Miss and Auburn who didnt even win an SEC game….thx guys…..
