The USC basketball team is coming off its worst week since Frank Martin took over the program. The Gamecocks were throttled by 39 points at Florida and then came home and lost beatable Georgia team by 11 points. Martin met with reporters to underscore why the blame for his team’s struggles should fall on his shoulders and take a look ahead at tomorrow night’s matchup at Kentucky. Yeah, a game at Rupp Arena isn’t exactly what you’d order up for a slump buster, but that’s what is waiting for the Gamecocks.

Comments

  1. What does it mean that Frank Martin took responsibility for the Gamecocks’ struggles? I mean, is he just going to say that without actually doing anything? Perhaps he should cut his salary. Maybe he should send me some money as a devoted Gamecock fan who has to watch inferior basketball and coaching. He said the same thing in regard to Lashay Page. How did his comments about Page have any meaning whatsoever? If he is really sincere about taking responsibility, he should do something to prove that. Oftentimes a CEO or a president of a company will resign to show how sincere he or she is about a serious error in judgment, a severe shortcoming, or an unacceptable oversight.
