LB Jonathan Walton of Daphne, AL has made his decision between USC and Auburn his coach said moments ago. Phil Lazenby knows the decision but isn’t saying. And neither is Walton right now. “He really wants to call the team he’s not chosen and he’s going to call when he gets home tonight,” Lazenby said. “Both schools will know tonight who he is choosing. He’s so excited. He’s smiling from ear to ear. He’s not trying to be coy. He will call both schools.” The coach was not sure on an exact time the calls will happen. USC has been recruiting Walton as a linebacker while Auburn is recruiting him as a H-Back.
DB Adrian Baker says he’s made his decision between Clemson and Oklahoma. He plans to announce on NSD at 10:45 AM. Clemson DB coach Mike Reed met with Baker of Hollywood, FL Wednesday.
Clemson coach Dabo Swinney is at this hour meeting with DE Carl Lawson of Alpharetta, GA at the school Lawson’s coach confirmed at 12:15 PM. Swinney along with assistants Tony Elliott, Marion Hobby and Brent Venables are at the school. Swinney will be the last head coach to meet in person with Lawson at his school before he makes his decision which right now is scheduled for Signing Day. “It’s going good I think,” Milton High coach Howie DeCristofaro said. “I know coach Elliott is positive about things. They are all three (Clemson, Auburn, Tennessee) right there.” Georgia Tech has also entered the picture. Lawson visited Tech Wednesday with his father who played for the Yellow Jackets and is now giving them consideration. Lawson will make his official visit to Auburn this weekend.
By the time the week is over, Clemson coach Dabo Swinney will have gone from Honolulu to Vienna…Georgia that is, taking care of his recruiting duties. He met with committed DL Scott Pagano in Hawaii at the front of the week, and at the end he’ll be in to try to nail down another defensive lineman in Montravious Adams. It’s also been a hectic week for Adams. Georgia’s Mark Richt visited with him Tuesday. Auburn and Alabama coaches will be in on Thursday. And the Clemson contingent visits Friday. And Adams will spend this weekend on an official visit to Auburn. He continues to maintain he has no favorite. Adams will announce a decision on Signing Day at 9:45 AM on ESPNU.
USC coach Steve Spurrier made his in home visit with DL Keith Bryant of Immokalee, FL today. Florida Atlantic coach Carl Pelini also visited Bryant today. Bryant will visit Florida Atlantic this weekend.

WR Blake Bone (6-5 195) of Woodruff said confirmed Thursday morning he will attend USC’s junior day Saturday. Bone said the Gamecocks are showing serious interest. “I’m a big receiver, and Alshon (Jeffery) went to the league, so they are looking for a big target to get the ball in his hands,” Bone said. Bone has offers from USC, Clemson and Ole Miss. He said he’s not heard much from Clemson lately. He said he’s also hearing from Georgia, Oregon, Alabama, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Georgia Tech, NC State, Kentucky, Florida State and Louisville. Bone said he won’t rush a decision. “I’m taking my time,” he said. “I definitely want to make sure I’m making the right decision.” He does not have a favorite. Last season Bone had 65 catches for 1150 yards and 14 touchdowns.
USC may have some interest in PG Chad Frazier (6-4 185) of Gulf Coast State JC, FL. A USC recruiter attended his practice Tuesday according to JUCORecruiting.com. Frazier committed to Oklahoma State last year but did not sign with the Cowboys in November. He took early official visits to Oklahoma State, Washington State and Northern Arizona. TCU also attended his practice Tuesday and Alabama reportedly has offered him. Memphis and Pittsburgh are other reported offers. Frazier is a native of Charlotte. He averaged 15 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists per game last season.
