Montravius Adams

Montravius Adams

DL Montravius Adams of Vienna, GA met today with Ellis Johnson and Rodney Garner from Auburn.  Adams has visited Clemson, Florida and Alabama and is scheduled to visit Georgia this weekend.  He’s been considering Auburn, Tennessee and Southern Cal for his final visit.

Auburn has made contact with DB Adrian Baker of Hollywood, FL.  Charley Harbison met with Baker and is trying to get him to schedule a visit.  So far he has not.  Baker has been down to Clemson and Oklahoma.

Ohio State coach Urban Meyer will visit with WR James Clark of New Smyrna Beach, FL tomorrow.  Clark has visited Clemson, Purdue, Nebraska and Northwestern.  He’s looking at Ohio State or  Florida for his final visit.

QB  Asaintii Woulard of Winter Park, FL met last night with several coaches from UCLA and he plans to visit there this weekend.  Woulard visited Clemson last weekend and he is deciding between Clemson and UCLA according to his father. “They brought the house, UCLA,” Mike Woulard said adding that head coach Jim Mora Jr. led a contingent of several coaches on the visit.   “It was very informative.  He listened to what they had to say and took it to heart.”  Clemson will visit with Woulard Thursday with Dabo Swinney, Chad Morris and Jeff Scott set to come in.  Woulard is focused on Clemson and UCLA at this point.

DE Carl Lawson of Marietta, GA visited Tennessee last weekend and the Vols are definitely in the hunt right now.  “He said he had a great visit and really liked their program and their facilities,” Lawson’s coach Howie DeCristofaro said.  “The things that they are talking about and doing with him in their defense, he said he had a good time.”  Lawson will visit North Carolina this weekend and Auburn the following weekend.  He has visited Clemson as well.  Clemson recruiter Tony Elliott was at the school last Friday.  “I talked at length with him about a lot of different things and they are just trying to hold on as best they can with Carl.  They went to see his day last week and everything still seems fine.  Carl is going to keep it under his had until signing day.”  Lawson will announce his decision on ESPNU on Signing Day at 9:00 AM.

Myrtle Beach placekicker Max Huggins has an offer from Presbyterian and has taken an official visit there.  Clemson and USC have talked with him about walking-on.  He has not decided what he wants to do but he likes the idea of kicking for a major college team.

WR Jeff Badet of Orlando will not take any more official visits and appears ready to make his commitment. Clemson had an in home visit with him last week and appeared to be in line for an official visit perhaps as early as this weekend. But Badet visited Kentucky last weekend and signs point towards him committing to the Wildcats. He also visited Wake Forest and considered a trip to Iowa State.

USC LB target Jonathan Walton of Mobile, AL met Monday night with Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn who was making his in home visit. Walton will make his official visit to Auburn this weekend. He visited USC last weekend and was favoring the Gamecocks coming out of that visit. Walton is also considering Tennessee which he visited a couple of weeks ago. He plans to sign with one of those three SEC teams. USC’s Lorenzo Ward and Kirk Botkin are scheduled to visit Wednesday. Gamecock head coach Steve Spurrier plans to make his in home visit next week.

LB Quinton Powell of Daytona Beach, FL wrote Tuesday night on Facebook that he is down to Florida and Southern Cal and has canceled visits to USC, Oregon and Miami.

LB Skai Moore of Fort Lauderdale met Monday night with his recruiting from Vanderbilt as well as with members of his family as he worked on his final decision. “We mainly talked about South Carolina and Vanderbilt,” he said of the family meeting. “As of now seems those are the two standing out.” Moore visited USC this past weekend and visited Vanderbilt earlier. He has also visited Wisconsin. Moore is a former Rutgers commitment and said he might visit there this weekend. USC coach Steve Spurrier and recruiter Grady Brown are scheduled to meet with Moore Thursday.  Arkansas head coach Brett Bielema met with Moore today.  Rutgers will be in Wednesday.

DB Chocolate Wilson of Myrtle Beach has committed to Marshall. Wilson made an official visit to Huntington last weekend and made his decision soon after that. Wilson also planned to visit Purdue and Ole Miss but canceled those visit. Wilson missed most of last season with a knee injury and only played in two games. Still, he was selected for the Shrine Bowl.

DL Keith Bryant of Delray Beach, FL bumped a visit to USC last weekend for one to Miami. But he hasn’t dropped the Gamecocks. Bryant plans to visit USC this coming weekend. And he is looking at LSU and Alabama for his final visit. He apparently has dropped Tennessee.  He has been to Purdue and Florida State. Bryant is not claiming a favorite and plans to announce on Signing Day.

DE Jaylen Miller of Gaffney made an official visit to Tennessee over the weekend and the Vols have become his favorite. And a decision may not be far off. “I had a great time, I really enjoyed it,” Miller said. “They made me feel at home. Around the coaches, I wasn’t uptight. I was relaxed. And I loved the facilities. Tennessee is out front, most definitely. It’s a very strong lead.” Miller has also visited Georgia Tech and is scheduled to see Maryland this weekend but he’s not sure if he’ll take that visit. And while Tennessee is a big leader, Miller is not sure he’ll make a decision this week. Georgia Tech coaches are coming in Tuesday and Tennessee coaches on Thursday.
