Gaffney DE Jaylen Miller recently was offered by the new Tennessee staff. “They are trying to get in the picture,” the Shrine Bowler said. He also has offers from Duke, North Carolina, Wake Forest, NC State, Georgia Tech, Florida, LSU, Kentucky and Maryland among others. He has set official visits to Wake Forest for January 19th, Maryland on the 26th and NC State on February 2nd. Miller said Tennessee, North Carolina and Georgia Tech are also possible for visits. There is no favorite. Miller totaled 27 sacks this season.

Junior WR Ryshene Bronson (6-3 195) of Ft. Myers, FL committed to Florida last summer but that hasn’t deterred other schools from making offers, including USC. “I like South Carolina,” Bronson said. “They throw the ball a lot. I’m still looking around but my home is Florida right now. I like coach Muschamp. They’ve come a long way from last year. And I’ve known (new WR) coach Phillips for a while.” Bronson, who is the cousin of Gamecock safety Jordan Diggs, said he might visit USC at some point. He also has offers from Auburn, North Carolina, Florida State and Massachusetts. This season Bronson had 21 catches for 435 yards and 5 touchdowns.

Uncommitted LB Yannick Ngakoue of Washington, DC is playing this weekend in an all star game in his hometown. Thursday he told reporters he has a final four of USC, Maryland, Florida State and Miami. The former Terp commitment has taken an official visit to Maryland and in January will visit Florida State, USC and Miami, in that order. He plans to take all of his visits before making a decision. Ngakoue will also play in the Under Armour game. Another Gamecock target, OL Na’Ty Rodgers, is also playing in the all star game featuring players from the Chesapeake Bay area. He said Thursday his top three of USC, Maryland and Washington remains the same. He is also sticking with his plan to announce at the Under Armour game and to visit USC January 19th regardless of his announcement.
