The USC basketball team has had nearly a two week break for exams. The Gamecocks will return to the floor Wednesday afternoon at 5:00 PM against Appalachian State at the Colonial Life Arena as part of a doubleheader with the USC women. The 21st ranked USC women take on top ranked Stanford a half our after the men’s game.
USC defeated Jacksonville it’s last time out on December 7th 91-74. The Gamecocks are 6-3. Appalachian is 2-7 and is coming off an 81-71 win over Missouri-Kansas City Sunday. That victory snapped a seven game losing streak.
The Gamecocks will have Bruce Ellington available for tomorrow night’s game. Ellington is the leading receiver on the Gamecock football team and the Gamecocks will have a bowl practice Wednesday morning.

The Gamecocks will play three games in a ten day period to close out 2012. Saturday they will play Manhattan in Brooklyn and on December 29th they will host Presbyterian College.
