Shrine Bowlers ready to battle it out Saturday in Spartanburg (AUDIO)

Last year’s SC MVP’s were Michael Grant (L) of Bluffton & Shaq Roland of Lexington

The Shrine Bowl teams wrapped up practice Friday morning.  The rest of the day is eating and resting.

The players attended the annual Shrine Bowl luncheon Friday afternoon.  Friday night they dine at the annual Shrine Bowl banquet where Clemson coach Dabo Swinney will be the guest speaker.

The teams practiced twice each day Monday thru Thursday.  They will meet Saturday afternoon at 1:00 PM at Gibbs Stadium at Wofford.

Most observers believe the North Carolina team has much more talent than the Sandlappers based on recruiting offers and commitments.  Sandlapper coach Ray Stackley of Stratford  understands that but is willing to play the game anyway just to see who is really better.

South Carolina leads the series 41-30-4 and has won three of the last five meetings.  North Carolina won last year 26-19.
