USC has called a 4:00 press conference Wednesday afternoon where running back Marcus Lattimore will announce he’s skipping his final season to enter the NFL draft. According to a source, Lattimore will sign with Pat Dye Jr. He will leave Friday to go to Florida to start training with Athletes Performance Institute located in Gulf Breeze, Florida.
According to the source, Lattimore will live in Florida and continue to train there through the April NFL draft. A couple of other notable players that have signed with Dye Jr. recently are former Gamecock Clifton Geathers and former Ridge View and Appalachian State star Brian Quick.
Lattimore is recovering from is second major knee surgery in the past two seasons. Perhaps the biggest news tomorrow will be if Lattimore reveals a firm time frame for his return to the field. There have been reports that he plans to rehab with whatever team takes him with the 2014 target to return to game action.
