USC offensive line coach and running game coordinator Shawn Elliott has withdrawn his name from consideration for the head coaching job at his alma mater of Appalachian State.
“Proud to be a Gamecock and staying a Gamecock,” Elliott said on his Twitter account Thursday night. “Very fortunate to work for the University of South Carolina!! Beat Michigan!!!”
Sources told SportsTalkSC.com earlier in the week that it was unlikely Appalachian State could meet Elliott’s pay scale that he has with USC and the job most likely would go to Mountaineers’ offensive coordinator Scott Satterfield.
Elliott is in his third season with the Gamecocks.
