Three USC players made the SEC’s All-Freshman team. The squad was picked by the league’s 14 head coaches. Tight end Jerell Adams, offensive lineman Brandon Shell and defensive back T.J. Gurley were the Gamecock representatives on the team.

Adams caught four passes for 90 yards with one touchdown this season. Shell started nine of the Gamecocks 12 games, including the final eight of the season. Gurley started two games this season and played in eight before suffering a knee injury at Florida that kept him out the rest of the season.
