Georgia State puts feeler out to USC assistant

Lorenzo Ward

USC defensive coordinator Lorenzo Ward has popped up on at least one school’s coaching radar. According to a source, a representative from Georgia State contacted Ward to gauge his interest in the Panthers vacancy. The source said Ward is not going to pursue the job.

Georgia State is searching for replacement for Bill Curry, who is retiring.

Ward just finished his first full season running the Gamecocks defense. He replaced Ellis Johnson before the Capital One Bowl game against Nebraska last season. Ward’s unit only allowed 17.4 points per game this season.
