“Palmetto state battle” verbal warfare in :90 (AUDIO)

Steve Spurrier’s Gamecocks are looking to win their 4th straight over Clemson

Here at SportsTalk, it’s our job to discuss Clemson and USC athletics (and the rivalry that ensues) with regularity.  This week has been a mixture of excitement and exhaustion for the crew as we rehash both team’s seasons, both on and off the field, in order to prepare our audience with the know-how necessary to be a quality fan.

With the annual battle of the palmetto state just hours around the corner, we thought we’d try to jam pack the intensity of this rivalry into roughly a minute and a half.

A win over USC would give Dabo Swinney’s Tigers a legit shot at a BCS bowl.

Over the past year, USC head coach Steve Spurrier, and Clemson head man Dabo Swinney have traded some verbal jabs back and forth.  Twitter has been the culprit on occasion, and even a compliment of an opposing player hasn’t been enough to thwart off barbs being tossed the other’s direction.  We thought we’d provide a recap just in time for kickoff.  USC and Clemson get underway in Death Valley at 7:00.
