Michael Carrera had a solid debut Sunday
USC forward Michael Carrera has earned SEC Freshman of the Week honors for his 17 point, 15 rebound effort in a win over Milwaukee Sunday afternoon. Carrera’s double-double helped the Gamecocks get Frank Martin’s tenure at USC off to a good start.
USC trailed by double digits in the second half against Milwaukee before rallying to win in overtime. Carrera shot 50 percent from the floor and made all five off his free throw attempts in the game.
The Gamecocks are back on the court Friday night with a home game against Morgan State. Tip-off is at 7:00 at Colonial Life Arena.
