Despite a 35 point win over Maryland Saturday, Clemson dropped one spot to 11th in the latest AP top 25. The Tigers 45-10 manhandling of the injury riddled Maryland Terrapins clearly did not impress the voters.
Clemson is 9-1 and will play host to NC State Saturday in the annual Textile Bowl.
USC’s 38-20 home win over Arkansas kept them at 12th in this week’s AP ranking. The Gamecocks close out their home slate Saturday against FCS and in-state foe Wofford.
Oregon is the new number one team in the country. The Ducks replace Alabama in the top spot following the Crimson Tide’s home loss to Texas A&M. Kansas State is second and Notre Dame is third. Alabama is fourth and Georgia is fifth.
